我一直记得当 Gerry Harvey 在 1997 年购买神奇百万时，原因之一是中国市场的潜力。
本世纪初，中国已被证明对国际马匹拍卖行和其他纯种马组织极具吸引力，但不幸的是，由于多种原因，中国仍未完全展示这个爱好马匹的国家的潜力。
Gerry委派我于 2004 年随已故的Tom Burns AO（昆士兰前副总理）和当时的昆士兰政府中国贸易专员率领的代表团访问了中国。在这次访问中， Tom Burns在郑榕彬先生的北京赛马会举办的神奇百万红十字杯担任颁奖嘉宾，自此，神奇百万成为中国的第一个澳大利亚赛马赞助商。访问期间，代表团访问了武汉，会见了东方赛马会（现武汉赛马会）主席胡越高先生。胡越高先生和他的儿子胡汶杰在中国为赛马行业的努力，在过去的 25 年中连续进行赛马比赛，平均奖金约为 10,000 澳元。
然而，中国马主联盟主席、玉龙投资集团董事长张月胜先生在山西省右玉县的玉龙马会的出现将中国赛马推向了一个新的高度。赛马的品质和血统印证了中国大陆马主对赛马的知识和热情。
我坚信，当中央政府最终将赛马博彩合法化时，中国将成为世界主要的繁育和赛马国家之一。
通过我们非常受欢迎的神奇百万中国代表和中国马主联盟秘书冯常会（Amy）的努力，神奇百万的品牌在中国建立起来。多年来，神奇百万赞助了北京、武汉、青岛、新疆和玉龙的比赛。
本赛季神奇百万已成为玉龙马会最大的国际赛事赞助商，玉龙马会现已成为中国首屈一指的比赛场地。2021年神奇百万的系列赞助赛事如下：
7 月 24 日 – 神奇百万杯预选赛 – 1200米，人民币 90,000 元
7 月 31 日 – 神奇百万杯预选赛 – 1200米，人民币 90,000 元
9 月 4 日 – 神奇百万杯 – 1200米，人民币 450,000元
9 月 11 日 – 神奇百万国产两岁马赛– 1000米, 人民币125,000元
9 月 25 日 – 神奇百万国产三岁德比大赛 – 1800米，人民币 125,000元
尽管澳大利亚马匹目前不能被进口到中国，但这项赞助是不顾一切的。神奇百万现在在中国有很多忠实的客户，公司希望他们知道他们得到了我们全力和持续的支持。

China racing’s leading international sponsor

I always remember when Gerry Harvey purchased Magic Millions back in 1997 that one of the reasons was the potential of the China market.
China proved extremely attractive to international auction houses and other thoroughbred organisations early this century but unfortunately, for a number of reasons, has still not reached the potential of the horse-loving nation.
Gerry sent me to China in 2004 on a delegation led by the late Tom Burns AO (former Deputy Premier of Queensland) and at the time the Queensland Government Trade attaché for China. On this visit to China Magic Millions became the first Australian sponsor of racing when Tom Burns presented the Magic Millions Red Cross Cup at YP Cheng’s Beijing Jockey Club. During that trip the delegation visited Wuhan and met with Jacky Wu, the Chairman of the Orient Lucky Horse Club (now Wuhan Jockey Club). Jacky Wu and his son Kit have served the racing industry well in China, conducting continuous racing for the past 25 years with prizemoney averaging around A$10,000.
The emergence of Zhang Yuesheng’s Yulong Jockey Club at Youyu (Shanxi Province) has taken China racing to a new level. The quality and bloodlines of horses racing at their track is testament to the knowledge and passion for racing by mainland Chinese owners.
I firmly believe that when the Central Government finally legalise betting on horse racing China will become one of the world’s leading breeding and racing countries.
The Magic Millions brand in China is well established through the efforts of our very popular representative Amy Feng, the secretary of the China Horse Racing Alliance. Over the years Magic Millions have sponsored racing in Beijing, Wuhan, Qingdao and Yulong.
This racing season Magic Millions has become the biggest international race sponsor at the Yulong Jockey Club, now China’s premier track. The series of sponsored races is as follows:
· 24 July – Magic Millions Preliminaries – 1200m, RMB 90K
· 31 July – Magic Millions Preliminaries – 1200m, RMB 90K
· 4 September – Magic Millions Cup – 1200m, RMB 450K
· 11 September – Magic Millions Homebred 2YO – 1000m, RMB 125K
· 25 September – Magic Millions Homebred 3YO Derby – 1800m, RMB 125K
This sponsorship is despite the Chinese Government’s current ban on the import of Australian horses to their country. Magic Millions now have many loyal clients in China and the company want them to know that they have our full and continuing support.
Whilst the direct market to China is closed, our mainland clients are supporting our company’s sales by purchasing horses to race in Australia, Singapore and Macau.
Magic Millions views China as the sleeping giant of world racing and look to continue and grow the relationship that began almost 20 years ago.
